2010 National Counselor Convention: Jul 15-17

A note of encouragement and motivation from Council President Dave Dalton:

Dear Counselors,

I have just a few thought to share with you as we race towards the Convention in July.

First, as you are getting donation, sponsorship, and fundraising checks sent in , make certain that you have your club number listed in the memo section of the check. This will help Matt and George track which clubs are to be assigned credit towards their fundraising minimum, and all those options count!

Secondly, we have not yet received (at time of our last meeting) any registrations yet. If you know that you are going and can swing parting with the registration funds at this point please consider doing so. This will help us as a committee beginning to get our vendors and transportation providers confirmed.

Lastly,and quite importantly, I might add, GREAT JOB thus far! We did an impromptu count of funds received and committed and we are approaching $10,000! Remember we are aiming for $40,000 and we only have a handful of clubs turning in funds so far. Keep up the great work and know that we are getting ever closer to the goal at hand.

Any counselor can help with promoting our Cadet Counselors' Convention. If you have a friend or business associate that you think would like to advertise in our program booklet, download the advertising form and discuss the convention with them.

Field Day

Field Day is an annual event held the first week of December.

Pinewood Derby

The Pinewood Derby is an annual event that occurs in March. In 2010, Pinewood Derby will be on March 27 at Bellflower One CRC, from 1-4pm.

Archery/Marksmaship Invitational

Periodically, the Council holds Archery/Marksmanship Invitationals, which provide Cadets a safe, supervised environment to practice the skills required for the Archery and Marksmanship badges.
